Mateo Lewis

Mateo Lewis has been playing music most of his life. Born in San Francisco, he spent most of his life in Bogota, Colombia, where he was a member of the hugely popular hard rock band, Raton Perez. After years of playing and touring in Colombia, he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music with a fellow Raton Perez bandmate. After a short time, he decided to drop out to focus his attention on writing and recording his own music. He did just that. He recently released his first solo album, Somas, a beautiful, tender and poetic departure from the rock he grew up playing. Mateo’s music offers a dreamworld, a landscape of colors and textures which offer a place to tap into your inner beauty while listening to his. We are honored to feature Mateo Lewis.

Laura West

While working as a proof reader in Los Angeles some years ago, Laura West, a Maine native, decided to leave the security of her full-time position and pursue a degree in Entertainment Art and Illustration from one of the foremost art schools in the country, Art Center College of Design. She not only made it through the rigors of her classes, she excelled. At one point, however, it appeared that Laura would not finish her degree. Because Art Center believed strongly in her abilities, it provided a grant which enabled her to complete her studies. After graduating she was picked up by DreamWorks as a Design Coordinator. Now she currently is a Concept Design Associate at Walt Disney Imagineering. Her ability to create characters is magical. With both a broad set of technical skills and a gift for portraying facial expressions, her work is filled with emotion, humor and wit. We are honored to have Laura West on the ASA Team as an illustrator.

Santiago Ayerbe

Santiago Ayerbe, an outstanding Colombian artist, is among a group of emerging young artists in the local Colombian scene for several years. With his unique style and natural talent for an un-common mix of techniques, he represents the new generation of Colombian artists who is making a difference in both the artistic landscape of Colombia and globally.

Cosmodrome

Cosmodrome has been making its mark on the scene in the North East as a forward-thinking, eclectic blend of soul, funk and hip-hop. Band members Madison McFerrin, Finnegan Bryan Singer, Charley Ruddell and Taylor Robinson have been friends since their freshman year at Berklee College of Music (where they all still currently attend) and in the spring of 2011, Cosmodrome was born. They recently released their first self-titled EP. They are often joined during live performances by a section of horns. Cosmodrome’s sound is a well-crafted blend of each members’ influences, a mixture of the sounds of their past with a sound we believe is the on the horizon. They not only shine as musicians, songwriters and performers, but they display a playful yet conscious perspective on their position within the scene. We are thrilled to feature them.

With a compelling sound and a unique approach to songwriting and piano-playing, Sarah and her band are an electric experience to see live. Her passion for the music she creates and her fresh presence are why we are excited to feature her as our first ASA artist.

Ro Rowan

Ro Rowan is a talented Los Angeles native based out in Boston. With her talent to capture light in people’s faces and her unique perspective she has been capturing the world around her since she was old enough to hold a camera. Ela Minus
